After several member changes, they arrived at their current lineup in 1999, when they met with Matt Safer (Bass/Vocals) at a gig in Washington DC. In 2007 he took a trip to Japan in search of inspiration and the following year returned in order to make the city his home. In 2009 he launched his own fashion line GRIAO. For its first collection he was inspired by Lee Miller, model-turned-photographer and sometime lover of Man Ray. The collection will be available from spring 2010. Gui Martinez (Gimme Um/Guim) After an apprenticeship with renowned art director William Baker in London in 2007, Gui moved to Tokyo, where he currently works as a photographer. He is also known for his astounding drumming skills, honed during countless shows played on the underground punk scene of Sao Paulo and London. After moving to Tokyo in 2005, he was recruited to play for the now-defunct group the Vivians and in 2009 joined Gimme Um with Tim Sullivan, aka DAS MOTH. His original groovy sense of mix and choice is well respected. Open 21:00 Baltimore street culture legend Aaron LaCrate steps up to the decks along with Tokyo B-more sound leaders Donuts Disco Deluxe, KIRI and SONPUB for a night of cutting-edge sounds sponsored by Vice magazine. Aaron LaCrate Aaron LaCrate is a DJ, the designer of Milkcrate Records and Milkcrate clothing, and a film producer. His home town Baltimore is the inspirational core of his music and designs. LaCrate began DJing at Baltimore nightclubs from an early age, and his mixtapes and t-shirts sold throughout inner city Baltimore. While at Syracuse University he forged connections with Def Jam Recordings, Payday, and Roc-A-Fella Record and LaCrate has since produced and remixed music from Madonna, Lily Allen, The Cool Kids among many others. He has toured with Lily Allen, Mark Ronson, Dizzee Rascal, and most recently Kanye West. Tracks from LaCrate's 2005 album B-More Gutter Music, was used by Marc Jacobs in a fashion show. He has done design collaborations with Vans, Colette, Jay-Z and Lucien Pellat-Finet and has also collaborated with Coca-Cola, HBO, Dazed & Confused and Ferrari. His music has been featured on various TV and movie soundtracks. Ani's breakbeats and edit sampling and his unique rhyming style that combines haiku and block party rap is combined by world-class beat boxer Afra's beats for an ageless, borderless sound that gets the heartbeat racing. Kiri (Revolver) Kiri established the brand Revolver in 1998, the heyday of the Ura-Harajuku movement. Although he is best known as the director of the brand, he has many connections in other industries and is famed as a party monster extraordinaire. He has a wide range of talents, from playing instruments to composing and track making as well as engineering mixes. Sonpub is currently focusing on his own production PHENIX PLAYERS. Roger Yamaha (TTLT) Roger Yamaha moved to NY in 2000, working in a fashion boutique while taking up a DJ residency at APT and playing various parties at other venues. His 2003 mix CD "Keep it in the Family" was described as "The ultimate digital heavy metal sex electro soul boogaloo" by Monk One of Wax Poetics. After returning to his native Japan, he launched online record store Moonwalk Records, which he continues to run to this day.
