MUSIC FAMILY

PELI

PELI

Growing up, PELI was exposed to a lot of '80s sounds thanks to her music-loving music parents. She later discovered hip-hop and then reggae, ska, punk, rock 'n' roll, swing and various other genres. Among these, she developed a particular fondness for rockabilly and early punk, both of which express the spirit of the times in which they emerged. Besides her deejaying exploits, PELI also works as a stylist, mostly for fashion magazines Vogue Japan, as well as on music videos for music acts. Her love for '80s and '50s styles - in terms of both fashion and music, and the way she mixes them with a refreshing sense of period - have hit a chord with the fashionista crowd in Tokyo, making her one of the most in-demand DJs for hipster parties.
She is a resident DJ at Le Baron and her regular events GIRL FRIEND, fancy HIM as well as other parties such as H&M, TOP SHOP, MIU MIU, Louis Vuitton where she is worshipped as a style icon. Borderless and genderless, her idiosyncratic DJ
style - characterized as "hard fairytale (too much fairytale)" by the lady herself - has to be heard to be believed.
